About Ms. Bellman
Margo Fisher-Bellman is in her tenth year teaching and her third year at Nativity. Previously, she taught at Tiffin-Columbian High School in Tiffin, OH, Miamisburg High School in Miamisburg, Ohio and Oak Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. For three summers, she has co-taught a graduate-level English course at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio regarding writing instruction. Since the winter of 2005, she has worked for the Ohio Department of Education establishing benchmarks for the Ohio Graduation Writing Test rubric. In 2006, she earned her National Board Certification and has twice been an assessor for National Board. Additionally, she has been a Praxis II, Principles of Learning and Teaching, assessor.
In October of 2007, she presented at the Cedarville Language Arts Conference on the importance of incorporating independent novels into the language arts classroom. In November of the same year, she presented at the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Annual Conference in New York City. This presentation addressed the importance of teaching tolerance by incorporating Islamic literature into the language arts classroom. In 2009, she presented at both the NCTE Annual Conference in Philadelphia and the Ohio Catholic Educators Conference in Cincinnati regarding authentic assessments in the classroom. In November 2010, she will present at the NCTE Annual Conference in Orlando, FL regarding 21st Century Skills in the language arts classroom..
Ms Bellman and her wonderful husband live in Kenwood with their two (HYPER) dogs and one (ANNOYED) cat.
